Homeowners Who Could Use A Guesthouse To Cry In
If you own a home, you know that the upkeep isn't easy. You are solely responsible for making sure that your furnace is working, your walls are standing, your electricity is running, and any damage is repaired. When you're a renter, you don't have to worry about any of that stuff. You just call in your landlord to fix stuff for you.
When you're a homeowner, there's nobody to call. It's all on your shoulders. The people on this list are feeling a heavy burden right now.
Never Remove A Load Bearing Wall
If you watch a lot of Home and Garden television, you know that the one thing you can never do is take out a load bearing wall.
Apparently these people don't watch HGTV.
I Hope He Has Insurance
This person is about to discover just how much his homeowner's insurance is worth. He better hope that his basement was waterproofed properly.
Otherwise this is going to cause a lot of problems.
A Hole In The Wall
This homeowner rents out his house to travelers through Airbnb. Normally, they're pretty respectful of his property.
These guests though, well... they were rowdy. Now he has to fix a hole in his wall.
It All Burned Down
This person just bought his dream home less than 2 months ago.
He took this photo on the day he watched it burn to the ground in a massive wildfire.
He Wanted A Cold Soda
The night before this photo was taken, this guy wanted a cold soda, so he put a can of Diet Coke in his freezer.
Then he forgot about it and went to sleep...
Close Your Windows
Apparently, this is what happens when you live in Svalbard, Norway, and you forgot to close the window to your home office.
You end up with an office full of snow.
A Broken Toilet
This person had been waiting for six months for a rather expensive toilet that she ordered. This is what it looked like when it arrived.
Yeah, I don't think that's going to work.
The Spiky Stick Of Death
This kid was casually sleeping in his room, when a giant, sharp branch just pierced through his ceiling.
It's a good thing it stopped where it did because that easily could have impaled a person.
Right Through The Roof
Reddit user Bloomshckalocka posted this photo online along with a heck of a story.
"Yesterday our neighbor's 80' locust tree gave us some live edge sky lights, a great view of the stars, and that Rainforest Cafe atmosphere that our living room had just always been missing. No injuries, dogs pissed the bed, life goes on..."
It's Too Humid
Reddit user RampantLion757 posted this photo online along with the caption after a rough couple of days.
"My air conditioner stopped working for a few days. My house got so hot and humid, it sealed my entire Costco size case of envelopes."
An Electrical Fire
This person moved into their house less than a year ago.
Somehow, there was an electrical fire under their house and now it looks like they have to move all over again.
Welcome Home
Imagine getting home after a long day of work, opening your washroom door, and walking into a total flood.
I don't know if the toilet overflowed or someone left the sink on, but either way, this is a mess.
It Wasn't A Good Day
Reddit user Balphazzar posted this photo online after a particularly bad storm.
"Nearly one month after finally repairing my house from Hurricane Laura, one of the worst rainstorms in 50 years hit my town and filled my house with water."
It Just Shattered
The glass on the front of this guy's lizard's tank just spontaneously exploded in the middle of a heat wave.
I guess the glass couldn't take the heat. I hope the lizard was okay.
The Worst Smell
These people got home from vacation only to find out their fridge and freezer had been broken for ten whole days.
I don't even want to know what their house smelled like.
Some People Weren't Meant To Be Plumbers
If you know anything about water at all, you know that it flows with gravity. Why then would someone make a raised shower drain?
It just doesn't make any sense.
So Much Glass
The town these people live in was going through a heatwave which caused their glass table to explode.
Now there's glass all over their freshly painted deck. It wasn't a very good day.
Broken All Along
Reddit user SpaceYeezus_ posted this photo online showing the drawbacks of moving.
"My girlfriend and i just moved into our house yesterday, and we mounted the tv today. we plug it in and see this."
It Melted
This homeowner's air conditioning wasn't working and nobody was able to come fix it for several days.
It got so hot that the butter in their butter dish completely melted.
Right Into The House
You don't often expect a car to crash into the side of your house, but for these people, that became their reality.
I hope both the driver and the homeowners have very good insurance.
Don't Do This For Safety
Someone said they installed this light switch like this with extra screws to ensure the plate doesn't fall off the wall.
Not only does this just not seem safe, but it's also a huge eyesore.
Like Messing Around With Guests?
If you like messing around with guests, this is a brilliant idea! While they frantically search for the toilet paper, you can be in your room laughing about it.
Other than that, why would you do this?
Who Had This Idea?
Whoever came up with this idea probably thought they were a genius of some sort.
The legs that support this balcony don't look too strong, to begin with, so that's probably the main issue.
Windows Has Encountered An Error
If you want larger windows, you might want to start by replacing the old one.
Putting a window in front of a window seems a bit odd, but I'm no expert at this.
The Cement Fail
This is enough cement to create two sidewalks in your neighborhood. The person or team that let this happen probably lost their wigs.
They probably just added an extra day or two to their work time.
What In Davey Jones' Locker Happened?
I get that parking can be tough, but it should never lead to anything like this. That garage will need a costly upgrade now.
How did the person even explain this mistake? It doesn't make sense how the car would end up sideways in there.
Who Cut This Lawn?
Was the lawn too big for the lawnmower to handle, or what? This is probably the most despicable mow you'll ever set your eyes on.
The zig-zags don't even have a pattern for you to follow. Someone went out there and said, "screw this job," and did this.
Make It Stop
Why would anyone want to take a shower with carpet underneath them? That's a horrible experience.
I hope this was a mistake and not something anyone openly wanted to have done to their restroom. I can feel the squishy floor just by looking at the picture.
Right Through The Ceiling
Reddit user ashlynnk posted this photo online along with the caption a caption explaining the issue.
"Went to my friend's house and asked her kid where his mom was... He told me she was 'stuck in the attic.'"
So Many Doors
Why does a building need this many doors? And more importantly, why are there doors up there on the second floor with no balcony underneath them?
That doesn't seem safe.
