According to Slate, some analysts predict that iPhone sales will decline around 15% this year. Because of this, the tech giant is looking to expand its services to other markets.
Apple Arcade, their answer to competitors PlayStation Now and Google Stadia, will be a gaming service with a monthly fee of $4.99. The service will give users access to over 100 new and exclusive games across all of their favorite Apple platforms. It will be available in 150 countries on September 19th.
The company is also venturing into the original programming market with its new streaming service Apple TV Plus. It will cost $4.99 a month, less than their competitors such as Netflix, HBO Now and the upcoming Disney+. Those who buy any new Apple device will get a free one-year subscription included. Everyone else will have the opportunity for a seven-day free trial. The November 1st launch includes a drama starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston and a thriller starring Jason Momoa.
Will Apple decide to do its customers a favor and bundle their services at an affordable price? Only time will tell.
