The Mega Mansions Of NFL Players
Football is basically its own religion in the United States — not to mention the biggest money-making sport in the country! These players make millions of dollars each year by tossing the pigskin around. And they all have the mansions to prove how much they rake in. Check out these incredible houses that the NFL built. You're not going to believe how much they cost.
Tony Romo's Mansion Cost $9 Million and Is Over 32,000 Square Feet
Tony Romo is one of the most famous football players today not just for his skills, but also for his romantic life. Tony Romo is currently the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. He got his career start by playing ball for Eastern Illinois University, where he received the Walter Payton Award in 2002.
He signed on with the Broncos, as a free agent, the following year. Although he’s broken several notable Cowboy records, he’s unfortunately become notorious for "choking" during high-profile games. That hasn’t stopped Romo from dating high-profile women like Jessica Simpson or from buying a Texas-sized mansion for himself and wife Candice Crawford.
Tony Romo's Mansion Is Deep In the Heart of Texas
Romo's Texas home is gorgeous, and everyone knows everything is bigger in Texas. Located in a prestigious Dallas gated community, the mansion is over 32,000 square feet and includes six bedrooms, an enormous pool (necessary in the Texas heat), an outdoor fireplace, and a relaxing spa. The entire estate sits comfortably on three acres of land.
This home is quite an upgrade for Romo, who sold his previous Irving, Texas home for $1.05 million to move into this custom-built one. No word on if his ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson will be invited over for a visit.
Antonio Brown Joined the NFL In 2010
Antonio Brown is a wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steeler. Born and raised in Miami, Brown moved to Michigan to play college football before joining the NFL in 2010 at 22 years old. He made it to Super Bowl XLV during his first season but the team lost to the Green Bay Packers. Still, he finished out his rookie season with an impressive 16 receptions for 167 yards in 10 games.
Two years later he signed a $42.5 million extension that included an $8.5 million signing bonus with the Steelers. With a salary like that, his $6.6 million mansion seems cheap!
Antonio Brown's Over-The-Top Miami Mansion
The Steelers superstar showed off his shiny new digs on MTV's Cribs. The home, which is located in Miami, Florida has 12 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and even a synagogue. The humble abode also boasts lots of other high-end features like Italian marble flooring, imported chandeliers, a custom outdoor kitchen and wet bar, and a home theater with stadium seating.
Brown purchased the home in 2016 for $6.6 million — which was $900,000 less than asking price. Something tells us Brown wasn't too worried about potentially shelling out an extra million.
Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers is on the top right now when it comes to success. Rodgers is currently the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers and is the NFL's all-time career leader in passing rate. Rodgers is also a four-time pro bowler and has a Super Bowl win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He’s also been selected to six Pro Bowls. His amusing trademark touchdown dance is called the "Championship Belt,” where he pantomimes fastening a champ’s belt around his waist. Rodgers is a winner in his personal life, too, as he has been dating the gorgeous Hollywood actress Olivia Munn since 2014.
It's Almost a Normal Home
Aaron Rodgers makes many promotional appearances (for companies such as State Farm and Pizza Hut) and presumably earns a lot of money for them, in addition to his NFL earnings.
From the looks of it, he used his money wisely with this Suamico, Wisconsin mansion. Rodgers has told media that he's a regular guy, and tries not to let fame and fortune change him too much. Although his home has more square footage than the rest of us have in our homes, Aaron Rodgers likes to keep it simple, and even has a garden for a place of tranquility.
J.J. Watt Lives Pretty Modestly
J.J. Watt is a defensive end for the Houston Texans and is making his own way in the National Football League after getting started as a high school athlete, where he lettered in track and field, basketball, and baseball. What a natural athlete!
Watt then played football for the Wisconsin Badgers in college. He was a recipient of the NFL Defensive Player of the Year and is the first NFL player in history to record two 20 plus sacks in a season. Watt also is a three-time recipient of the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award.
It's Actually Pretty Inexpensive
J.J. Watt is one of the highest-paid players in the NFL, but he didn't buy a lavish house. Watt's former house, in Pearland Texas, was worth $465,000 and included four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The nice but relatively modest red brick house was equipped with a small pool and billiard room.
Another sign that this guy is down-to-earth is the fact that he founded the Justin J. Watt Foundation, which provides after-school care for kids throughout the country and has raised almost $4 million to date. J.J. Watt has a big heart as well as a big home!
Cam Newton Balls On the Court and In His Condo
Cam Newton is one of the most talented and eccentric players in the NFL today. Newton is the quarterback for the successful Carolina Panthers, based out of Charlotte, NC. One of Newton’s biggest claims to fame is being the first overall pick for the Panthers during the 2011 draft. He’s also hit many other remarkable milestones in his impressive career.
In the span of one year, he won a national championship and a Heisman Trophy. Newton’s list of achievements goes on: he was the first rookie quarterback to throw 4,000 yards in one season, was named to the NFL All-Pro First Team in 2015, and led the Panthers to the Super Bowl in 2016.
His Condo In Charlotte Is Prime
Cam Newton's home might sound small at first since it’s a condo, but is anything but. This amazing Charlotte condo is worth $1.6 million and includes three bedrooms, a rooftop pool, and over 3,200 feet of space. It’s located uptown, in The Trust Building.
There’s a state-of-the-art stainless steel kitchen, a modern industrial style, enormous walk-in closets, and gorgeous views of the Charlotte skyline. This condo is a perfect bachelor pad for the North Carolina bachelor, who now counts Michael Jordan (owner of the Charlotte Bobcats) as a neighbor. Jordan is one of the building’s six other tenants.
Patrick Mahomes Is The Quarterback To Beat
In 2013, Patrick Mahomes seemed to predict his future success in a Tweet that read, "I bet it feels amazing to be the quarterback who says "I'm going to Disney World" after winning the Super Bowl." And when he was just 23 years old in 2019, the Kansas City Chiefs QB became the youngest player since Dan Marino to win the NFL's Most Valuable Player award.
It got better. The following January, he led his team to that amazing Super Bowl championship win. As the game's MVP, he carried them from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter win against the San Francisco 49ers. He threw for an impressive 286 yards, scored two touchdowns, and had two interceptions.
Home Worthy Of A Super Bowl Champion
The year before his huge Super Bowl win, Mahomes shelled out $1.9 million on a sweet home in the swanky Mission Hills Country Club in Kansas City. The 3,759-square-foot home boasts three bedrooms as well as a stunning master suite, three bathrooms, workout room, a swimming pool, hot tub, and rose garden.
The gourmet kitchen is outfitted with everything a chef could want when preparing a meal, including stainless steel appliances and custom-built cabinetry.
Frank Gore Bought a Mansion In Florida
Frank Gore is currently a running back for the Indianapolis Colts. He's been a top player in the NFL for ten years and is known as one of the best running backs in the game. The Florida native played for the University of Miami before being drafted to the San Francisco 49ers, where he played from 2005 to 2014. While with the 49ers, Gore helped lead the team to 49ers to Super Bowl XLVII.
Ranked among legends like Jim Brown and Barry Sanders, Gore is a member of the 10,000 Rushing Yards Club, was a 2012 NFC Champion, and was the PFWA Most Improved Player of the Year in 2006.
Party House In Davies, Florida
Frank Gore purchased a mansion in Davies, Florida while playing for the 49ers in 2008. After switching to the Indianapolis Colts, the running back listed his Mediterranean style home for sale at $1.695 million.
The lucky buyer will enjoy six bedrooms that each have an en-suite bathroom. The enormous house also boasts a huge outdoor entertainment space that includes an outdoor kitchen, bar, resort-style pool and spa. The entire estate is surrounded by fencing for extra privacy for all that time spent in the pool and the grounds are beautifully landscaped with tropical foliage.
Travis Kelce Lives In Style
Tight end on the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce is a Super Bowl champion and is paid the big bucks. Of course, his salary with the NFL team allows him to live in style, namely at his home in Kansas City's Briarcliff West neighborhood.
Kelce purchased the home back in 2019, a few years after he was drafted by the Chiefs (in 2013).
Kelce's Four-Bedroom Home
While Kelce could have opted to purchase a huge mega-mansion, he decided on a beautiful four-bedroom house in Kansas City's Briarcliff West neighborhood. More interesting is that the NFL star purchased the 4,164-square-foot split-level home for less than $1 million!
In 2019, Kelce bought the house for $995.000. The home boasts a gym, wine cellar, and a beautiful pool in the backyard.
Kelce's New Mega-Mansion
In 2023, NFL superstar Travis Kelce upgraded his living situation to a massive 17,000-square-foot mansion located in Leawood, Kansas, a suburb that is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. On the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, Kelce's purchase came at a whopping $6 million.
The 4,200-square-foot home sits on 3.5 acres of land and features six bedrooms and six bathrooms, not to mention a gorgeous chef's kitchen, wine cellar, gorgeous backyard swimming pool, tennis court, and mini golf course.
Richard Sherman
Richard Sherman is another Seattle Seahawks players who is known to throw his money around, but it's OK since he has a lot of it! Sherman played college football at Stanford University before being drafted to the NFL as a Seahawks cornerback. In his rookie season, 2011, he was added to the PFW All-Rookie Team.
He’s a star at defended passes and interceptions and helped bring the Seahawks to their 2014 Super Bowl win over the Denver Broncos. Sherman signed a $57.4 million contract extension in 2014, making him one of the highest-paid defensive players in the NFL.
His House Is Ballin'
The then-26-year-old Richard Sherman bought LA Clippers guard Jamal Crawford's former house for $2.3 million in 2014. So this is an athlete’s home, all the way! The 9,475 square-foot house comes equipped with four bedrooms, six bathrooms, a beauty salon (wha??), and a full basketball court.
Vaulted ceilings, a chef’s kitchen complete with massive island, formal dining room, and luxury bathroom finishes round out the interior. The Maple Valley, Seattle mansion also has a swanky indoor swimming pool with artificial palm trees, a huge game room, and six covered parking spaces for all his sweet rides!
Tom Brady
Tom Brady is a living legend when it comes to football, and most analysts think he is one of the best quarterbacks to ever live. Brady got his start playing college football for the University of Michigan, and has played for the New England Patriots ever since being drafted by them in 2000.
He’s now led the New England Patriots to six Super Bowls, winning four of them, and has also helped his team earn more division titles than any other NFL quarterback in history. Brady appeared to survive "Deflategate" alright, judging by his house. You won’t believe how much he spent on it.
His New House Is Crazy
What can you get for $20 million? How about a mega mansion complete with a moat and a supermodel wife to share it with you? Tom Brady and his beautiful wife Gisele Bündchen built themselves a legit castle in Los Angeles.
Completed in 2016, the estate includes five bedrooms and over 5.2 acres of land. The house is a place of zen, and even includes its very own yoga and meditation studio. It keeps getting cooler: the house is primarily powered by the sun! In a People interview, Bündchen said “We are excited to be using solar power as the main source of electricity in our home.
DeMarcus Ware Basially Owns a Castle
DeMarcus Ware is an outside linebacker for the Denver Broncos. He joined the team after first playing nine seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. Ware is known for being intense on the playing field and was the all-time leader in sacks while playing for the Dallas Cowboys.
He was part of the Cowboys lineup that won Super Bowl 50 against the Seattle Seahawks. Ware got his start as a Troy Trojan in college before being drafted to the Cowboys in the first round. He holds the record for the most multiple-sack games (28) and forced fumbles 32) with the Cowboys.
It Looks Like a Castle
DeMarcus Ware's mansion looks more like a castle than a house. The mansion is located in a quiet neighborhood in Dallas and includes six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a trampoline, a wine cellar, and over 10,000 square feet of living space. The house is worth over $2.2 million dollars.
In 2016, some brazen burglars robbed Ware’s home while he was at an away game against the Houston Texans. The criminals stole Ware’s Super Bowl ring! In response to the theft, the linebacker tweeted, “After a great win, came home to find my house was robbed. Never about the material things for me but my safety. Thank God for hidden cameras”. Police later apprehended the idiot thieves thanks to the home’s many surveillance videos.
Rob Gronkowski
Rob Gronkowski, aka "The Gronk," is tight end for the New England Patriots. In his first six seasons he brought in 65 touchdowns. He also sets the record as the youngest player with three touchdown receptions in a game. He is also incredibly fast, running a 4.6 second 40-meter run.
Gronkowski played for the University of Arizona in college, where he was named a Rivals.com and Sporting News All-American as a freshman. He was selected by the Patriots in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. In 2012, he signed a six-year contract extension worth $54 million…that’s a record for NFL tight ends.
His Tampa Bay Mansion Was Dubbed the "Party House"
Rob Gronkowski's former house, located in beautiful Tampa Bay, Florida, is a tropical paradise. He purchased the home for $1.6 million, renovated it, and listed for $2.3 million just one year later. This guy is good on the football field and in the real estate market.
The waterfront mansion features a game room, in-house elevator, wet bar, and a pool. Two jet skis come with the house, for anyone who wants to tear around on the open water. Friends of the pro football player have called it the "party house," and who wouldn't want to party here?
Devin Hester
Devin Hester is an NFL wide receiver. He is also a special returner and has 19 touchdown returns. This record is only matched by Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. Hester came from a tough background and he’s had to overcome a lot to get where he is today. He lost his father when he was young and his mother was severely injured in a car accident.
Hester's life turned around when his stepfather introduced him to football. Hester played college at the University of Miami before he was selected by the Chicago Bears during the second round of the draft. He later played for the Atlanta Falcons, the Baltimore Ravens and the Seattle Seahawks.
His House Could Be in the Real Estate Hall of Fame
His former home in Chicago during his time playing for the Bears was one for the books. The massive house was complete with 10,000 square feet of living space and three full floors of amenities, all set on 2.5 acres of land. Jaw dropping features include a recreation room, theater, tennis court, hot tub, a playground, nanny’s quarters, and a sports bar in the basement.
Hester listed the estate for $2.65 million dollars when he switched teams and moved to Atlanta. It reportedly sold for just under $2 million.
Patrick Peterson
Patrick Peterson is currently a cornerback for the Arizona Cardinals. In 2014, he signed a five-year contract with the team, worth a staggering $70 million! Peterson played football at Louisiana State University where he earned All-American honors and was rated as the fifth-best overall player in the nation by Rivals.com.
He was chosen by the Cardinals during the first round of the 2011 draft. Peterson holds many records with the Cardinals, including the most punt return yards in a single season (699) and longest punt return touchdown (99). See where this NFL star calls home on the next slide.
7,800 Square Feet in the Main House Alone
Patrick Peterson bought his first home for $1.3 million when he was only 25 year old! Not a bad starter pad. But when he signed his lucrative five-year contract extension the Cardinals he upgraded to a new home outside Scottsdale, Arizona. The new home was purchased for $2.692 million.
Boasting 7,800 square feet in the main house alone, the luxury villa also features six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a basketball court, library, lagoon pool, game room, media room and wine cellar (complete with its own tasting room, natch). Cheers, Patrick. You earned this!
Marshawn Lynch
Marshawn Lynch is a former American football player who made his name playing for the Buffalo Bills and the Seattle Seahawks. He helped lead the Seahawks to the Superbowl victory against the Denver Broncos in 2014. Lynch notoriously hates talking to the media and frequently dodges questions lobbed to him by reporters.
Lynch earned the nickname "Beast Mode” with his brutal playing style, and he also has a clothing line by the same name. Although he retired from the NFL in 2016, he still serves as a mentor to the current roster of Cal football players.
His House Is on Point
So where does “Beast Mode” hang his hat at the end of the day? Marshawn Lynch's house is located on the waterfront in the San Francisco Bay Area and is worth an estimated $3.6 million dollars.
The Oakland native returned to nearby Richmond to buy his home that is around 7,000 square feet and has five bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, a wine cellar and media room. It also has an elevator (presumably for his sore legs after those hard days of training), and a boat dock extending 58 feet long. There are gorgeous water views from nearly every room in the house.
Matt Forte
Matt Forte is a running back for the New York Jets and has truly made his mark as one of the best in the game. A Louisiana native, Forte was originally drafted by the Chicago Bears after playing for Tulane in college, and continued with them for eight years. He signed to the Jets in 2016.
Forte's awards and merits include two Pro Bowls, being named the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week and the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Forte’s talent is proven by his wealth and property, as we’ll see on the following page!
It's an Absolute Metropolitan Oasis
Matt Forte's unique mansion is located in downtown Chicago and looks like an entire apartment building. The house, which is located in the city’s River North area, is worth around $4 million and has a spacious and comfortable home theater which can seat over twenty people.
The house is also 9,000 square feet, which in downtown Chicago is mind-blowing! Four stories tall, the mansion’s other amenities include five enormous bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, multiple decks, a three-car garage, elevator, and luxurious custom finishes throughout. Walk-in closets and sprawling bathrooms are standard throughout the house.
Brandon Marshall
Brandon Marshall is a wide receiver for the New York Jets. He began by playing football for the powerhouse program at Central Florida while he was in college. He also played for the Chicago Bears and the Miami Dolphins before signing on with the Jets.
Despite suffering from some minor injuries and some personal issues that have come up over the course of his career, the wide receiver continues to thrive in the sport. On a personal note, he is one of the football players who is protesting police brutality by kneeling while the National Anthem is sung during games.
Florida Is Beautiful
This villa style home in sunny Southwest Ranches, Florida, proves Marshall is one of the NFL’s top taste makers. His former home was listed for $4.495 million when Marshall moved to New York to play for the Jets.
This mega mansion, boasting an incredible 11,877 square feet of living space, includes over-the-top elements like a suspended fish tank over a full bar, HD home theater, a free-form resort-style pool, full basketball court and mosquito misters. Custom Italian cabinets outfit the kitchen and bathrooms, the master suite is covered in leather wallpaper, and you know there’s a smart house system installed.
Peyton Manning
Peyton Manning is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. He certainly came from a distinguished football family: his dad is the former NFL quarterback Archie Manning and his little brother Eli is currently quarterback for the New York Giants.
Peyton is now retired after playing 18 seasons with the NFL. His first 14 seasons were with the Indianapolis Colts, and he was signed to the Denver Broncos for the final four seasons of his career. Manning finally won a Super Bowl in 2015, when he was playing for the Broncos. He retired at the top of his game after this Super Bowl win against the Seattle Seahawks.
His Denver House Is Sky High
Peyton Manning's Denver house is one of the coolest mansions out there. The mansion is located in the Cherry Hills Village area of Colorado. It measures in with over 16,000 square feet of living space. Manning's top-of-the-line estate is situated on 3.37 fenced and landscaped acres of private land complete with a heated garage large enough to hold seven cars.
The home includes seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a posh indoor/outdoor kennel for his dogs, a billiard room, theater, massive wine cellar, and even a panic/safe room for emergencies. Manning purchased the home for $4.575 million.
Philip Rivers
Philip Rivers is one of the biggest names in football today. Rivers is currently the Los Angeles Chargers' quarterback and is considered to be one of the best in the National Football League. He has been chosen for many Pro Bowls, but has declined the offers.
He began his football career as part of North Carolina State University’s Wolfpack, and in 2004 was signed to the New York Giants. The Giants then traded him to the Chargers (then based in San Diego) in exchange for quarterback Eli Manning. Rivers later helped the Chargers get to their first playoff game since 1994, during the 2007 season.
San Diego Oasis
Before the Chargers moved to Los Angeles, Philip Rivers lived in an absolutely amazing San Diego mansion. The estate, located in a small gated community called Rancho del Lago, is set on an eight-acre parcel of land. Rivers purchased the home for $4.7 million in 2009.
Coming in at nearly 7,000 square feet and complete with a fountain, an outdoor fireplace, waterfall, wine cellar, full bar, six bedrooms, and a library, this house is one of the most lavish ones on our list. Rivers’ six children were no doubt sufficiently entertained when they got to live there!
Eli Manning
Eli Manning isn't just the younger brother of Peyton and son of Archie, but one of the best quarterbacks to ever take to the football field. Manning played college football at Ole Miss and was later swooped up by the San Diego Chargers in the 2004 NFL draft.
The Chargers immediately traded him to the Giants in exchange for another player on this list, Philip Rivers. Manning has had a remarkable career and has led the New York Giants to two Super Bowl wins against the New England Patriots. He can also boast of a jaw-dropping 300 touchdowns in his career to date.
Condo Central
Eli Manning's condo is worth over $5.2 million dollars and is located in the historic Hudson Tea Building on the waterfront in Hoboken, New Jersey. The condo has a beautiful view of Midtown Manhattan and a Jacuzzi covered in gold. It's simply amazing, and one of the most expensive homes on the market in Hoboken.
One of the home’s coolest features is its automation: Manning and his wife can control virtually every aspect of the home, from the blinds to the temperature to the entertainment system, all from a touchscreen system. The condo even features a James Bond-style hidden bar that’s revealed with the press of a button.
Reggie Bush
Reggie Bush isn't just a football player, he's a celebrity. The former boyfriend of Kim Kardashian got his start in college at USC. He then made his name in the pro football world by playing for the New Orleans Saints. Bush now plays for the Buffalo Bills as a running back.
In the past, he’s also played for the Detroit Lions, the Miami Dolphins, and the San Francisco 49ers. Bush. Even though his playing is sometimes overrated and he was found to be involved in an “improper benefits” scandal (which led him to return his Heisman Trophy), he does have amazing taste in houses.
Kim K. Missed Out
This amazing house is fit for even the likes of ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian! Reggie Bush's former house sold for $5.7 million. The Hollywood Hills mansion, although a contemporary style, was built back in 1953.
There are three luxurious levels of floor-to-ceiling glass, with a magnificent master suite occupying the entire third floor. The windowed wonder offers its occupants 360 degree views of downtown Los Angeles, the coast, and the canyons that surround it. Complete with three bedrooms, six bathrooms, elevator pool, theater, dog run, built-in barbecue area, and loft-style library, this house truly has it all!
Adrian Peterson
Adrian Peterson is currently a running back for the Minnesota Vikings and is an amazing star athlete. Peterson was also an outstanding player in college. During his years as an Oklahoma Sooner, he set a NCAA freshman running record and was given all-American honors.
In Peterson’s rookie year as a pro, he set a record for the most rushing yards in one game and later became one of the only players in football history to run more than 3,000 over the course of two seasons. He’s broken many Vikings records including most rushing touchdowns in a single season and most career rushing touchdowns.
His House Will Blow You Away
Adrian Peterson's former mansion in Houston was listed for $8.5 million in 2016. The stunning abode, located in the Woodlands section of town, is over 10,500 square feet in size -- enormous! It includes a lush wooded area, European style decor, a large pool area, and a home movie theater.
Of course, the pool has a swim-up bar and a separate spa area (necessities for a house like this). As the estate comes complete with seven bedrooms and eight full bathrooms, Peterson no doubt hosted plenty of friends and family here. This mansion will definitely give you #goals.
Odell Beckham Jr.
Odell Beckham Jr. is one of the biggest names in football right now, with his exceptional talent and cool hair. He started out playing for LSU, and was drafted into the NFL in 2014. Beckham is currently a wide receiver for the New York Giants and is already making history.
He is the only player in NFL history to reach 75 plus receptions in the first 11 games of his career. During his first season, he also made a one-handed touchdown, which earned him some serious media coverage. Beckham has been named to the Pro Bowl every season he’s played at this point.
His House Is As Cool As He Is
Odell Beckham Jr. is only 23 years old and is certainly living the high life. When he is not on the road playing away games, the football star is living in his best friend's house, with rapper/artist Drake.
The mansion is located in the Hidden Hills and is worth an estimated $27 million. Drake’s home obviously has some insane features like a drool-worthy pool, movie theater, basketball court, hidden rooms and even a mechanical bull. In a GQ interview, Beckham said, “His house can’t be messed with. Right now, we’re on two different levels.”
